How to use Mint Leaves for Hair
Mint is not only used in cooking. Instead in Ayurveda, it is also used as medicine. Medicinal properties in mint leave very helpful to cure a lot of ailments. Nutritional properties include in this plant are Vitamin A, B, C, D, Iron, calcium, etc. these types of vitamins and minerals are found in it.
Actually, we use this mint or pudina in our many home remedies. I can say this is my beauty enhancer in my beauty regime. It gives a good flavour to my recipe, hence I always use these leaves in my cooking and in some juices. While preparing I add few leaves of mint to lemon juice, cardamom water, etc. It makes me happy and soothing.
The carotene and antioxidants in these leave help to remove dandruff and head lice. Now I came to know that why my grandma was putting a pudina hair mask on my hair. I had a lot of head lice when I was at primary. Hope you too had it.
Instead of buying from the market, you can grow this plant very easily at your home. Do you know how to grow this at home? Just cut the stems of mint and remove all the leaves and use it for your cooking or beauty regimes. What you will do with the remaining stems? Don’t throw it. You have to use these stems to plant. It grows very nicely. But you can do one this, just put it in the water after few days it starts to sprout the roots then you can plant it.
Once it grows well then again cut the stems and use them for your daily routine and plant the remaining stems. Like this easily you can grow mint or pudina at home.
How to Prepare Mint Hair Masks in Different Ways?
1. Mint with Rice:
Rice is also not only food but is a beauty enhancer. For this mask what you need is half a cup of soaked rice and a handful of mint leaves. Wash the rice properly and soak it overnight, next morning take that rice and mint and grind well. You will get a smooth paste of it. After getting a smooth paste first rinse your hair with water or rice water (rice soaked water) then apply this mask all over your scalp and hair. Your hair strands should be covered properly, you can use a shower cap too. After few minutes wash it off with mild shampoo.
2. Mint With Banana:
You might know about the benefits of bananas for our hair, how they are great to protect and nourish our hair. If you have dull hair then it’s the best hair mask, as it gives a good shine to lifeless hair.
Here you need a bowl of mint leaves and 2 bananas (as per your hair length). Make a puree of it. Add these purees to the bowl and add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 15 drops of any essential oil. Blend it well and apply it over all your hair roots and till the tips. Rinse off after 25-30 minutes.
3. Mint With Aloe Vera:

Well, let’s know how to prepare this mask. First, extract 3 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel or take a store-bought one and add the same quantity of mint paste, add a little coconut or olive oil. Give a good stir to combine well. Apply this from your hair roots to tips and rinse off after 15 minutes.
4. Mint With Lemon Juice:
If you are struggling with oily scalp and dandruff problems this mask will work well. Take some spoons of mint paste and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to it. Mix well and as usual, apply to your scalp. Wash off after 10 minutes.
5. Mint With Hibiscus:
Hibiscus is one of the traditional and famous herbs in the hair care regime. Both the Hibiscus leaves and flowers are beneficial for our scalp and hair. For this hair mask, you need 15-20 crushed hibiscus leaves, 2 tablespoons of mint paste, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Add all the ingredients to the mixing bowl and mix gradually. Apply to your gorgeous hair and then wash out after 20-25 minutes. You will get shiny, bouncy hair from the first wash itself.
Pudina or mint leaves are not only for external use. You have to consume internally for the best results. Hence along with an external application, intake in your daily diet.
Healthy Mint and Lemon Drink:
If you want to refresh then have a cup of lemon and mint juice. I already told you that I always use these leaves to my juices. Take a cup of water and add lemon juice with sugar or honey and add chopped mint leaves which are very good for health. If you like cardamom then add 2 cardamoms in it and give a good mix. Add 2 cubes of ice and have it in summer.
